Donations

2009 has started out with a large number of veterinary bills. We've already had 2 surgeries for abcess drains, a number of neuters, thyroid adenoma surgery, ongoing chemotherapy for a piggy with lymphoma (so far with great results!), along with a fair number of more routine bills. Our adoption fees do not cover all our costs - mostly just some of the feed, hay and bedding bills. We've taken in a few guinea pig boarders to help defray our costs and have had help from some nice donors.  Our vet has helped us out quite a bit, but we've used up a lot of our resources. We are part of the Rabbit Haven, which is a 501(c)3 organization, so donations made through them on our behalf are tax-deductible.

Our $25 adoption fees cover only a small part of our costs.  In 2006, our costs for our cat and guinea pig rescue were 4 times that of our adoption fees we took in. Any donations are appreciated.  You can make a tax deductible donation through our parent organization, The Rabbit Haven. If you donate through them, please note somehow that the donation is for the guinea pigs or the rabbits will get it instead (which is cool too). If you want to donate directly to us, you can either send us a check or you can donate through PayPal using sbduhamel@sbcglobal.net as the recipient. We hope to have a separate PayPal account for our rescue in the future.

1) To donate through the Rabbit Haven, please go to this link:

Don't forget to note somewhere that the donation is for the guinea pigs.

2) To donate directly to us, send a check, made out to Cavy House,  to the following address:

We appreciate any help we can get. Thanks!
