How You Can Help:
There are many ways you can help. Our aim is to make sure that every guinea pig in the shelters get a loving, forever home. You can:
| Adopt a guinea pig from us | |
| Foster a guinea pig for us | |
| Adopt a guinea pig from a shelter | |
| Help transport guinea pigs (we often need help getting the guinea pigs from the shelters to us) | |
| Donate vegetables, feed, money etc. Note: We buy our hay and pellets in bulk size (50 lb bags of guinea pig pellets, horse-size bales of bedding, and horse-size bales of hay) from feed stores like An-Jan and Half Moon bay Feed and Fuel, instead of pet food stores at a great cost savings. If you're interested in buying feed, bedding or hay to donate, feel free to ask us for recommendations so we can get the most value for your dollar. | |
| Clean cages (this may not be practical though since we live pretty far from everyone) | |
| Help advertise guinea pigs in shelters that need homes (craigslist etc) | |
| (more items will be added as we think of them) |
Guinea pigs come to us from all over the bay area. We rescue from shelters in San Jose, Santa Clara, Watsonville, Scotts Valley, San Francisco, Berkeley, Martinez and other shelters. We can't always get out to these shelters due to time constraints etc. if we had people who were willing to pick up guinea pigs for us and drive them either part way or all the way to our home in La Honda or to my job in San Jose (near 237/Zanker Rd/880/Montague expressway) it would help a lot.
